In August I shared Part One, which were 5 of the 10 podcasts I regularly listen to as I knit your orders. I promised Part Two in September and unfortunately missed that deadline thanks to you all keeping me very busy BUT here it is, better late than never!
I would also like to thank those of you who emailed/messaged/tweeted me with new suggestions as I love them all! If you have a suggestion please send it my way @woolandwaterltd.
Now on with the next 5 - you can find all of these podcasts on iTunes or through your trusty Podcast app (I use Podcast Addict).
- Beautiful Anonymous - hosted by comedian Chris Gethard the concept is that anonymous people call in and can talk about whatever they want with Chris for 1 hour. He cannot hang up, only they can end the call. No names, no identifying details just anonymous freedom to tell their story through conversation. This has fast become a favourite for me plus Chris' voice is deliciously hypnotic to my ears!
- Radio Lab - This podcast always reminds me of reading great, informative pieces in a Sunday newspaper about things you didn't know about before or didn't know to be curious about. A curation of curiosity if you will. The episode content ranges from unusual personal experiences, quirky science and provocative philosophy. Hosted by Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich this is always fascinating listening.
-
Strangers - Hosted by Lea Thau, Strangers features beautifully told personal stories. About love, loss, kindness, chance encounters, essentially humanity. The story content varies and yet are is always compelling.
- Terribly Funny - In essence, terrible true stories told by the funny people it happened to. I like the frank and open nature of the episodes whether that is discussing loss, illness, divorce or rejection. The clever thing is the opposites of the experience always make an appearance, where there is sadness there is joy (in time) and it is this parallel that is often celebrated in this podcast.
- Love & Radio - You never know quite what you're going to get with Nick van der Kolk's Love + Radio. My reactions are always strong; I have cried, grimaced and stopped frozen in shock listening to some of the episodes. What it does reveal is a world full of varied, unique and often complex people, some you relate to, others you are simply fascinated by. Should you explore this podcast out I urge you to listen to 'The Living Room', it is one of the most incredibly beautiful stories I have ever heard.
I hope you check some of these out & I would love you to tell me what you think and maybe you have a recommendation for me. Tweet @woolandwaterltd or hit me up on the W&W Facebook Page!
